The Account Director typically reports to a Vice President depending upon the size and scope of an account. An Account Director is also responsible for quality assurance on all work product for the account teams and is central to overall agency management and operations. Account Directors should be working towards being able to fulfill the role of account lead on their own, as the highest-ranking member of a client team wherein they would be responsible for managing staff hours, profitability of accounts, account performance, staff performance and high-level client management.

In addition to his/her account-focused responsibilities, the Senior Account Director will be tasked with initiating and securing new business, participating in industry organizations as a representative for the company, providing input and direction on business operations and growth strategies.

As a boutique B2B technology PR firm, the Vice President role is a pivotal position as it oversees operations and account management.  This individual will serve as a mentor, manager and lead example for account teams on client management, quality assurance, staff development and strategic guidance.  The Vice President will also be involved in new business development, operational leadership and product/services development. 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years public relations agency leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  • Experience in leading technology, healthcare and professional services account teams
  • Broad base of experience in core competencies of public relations including media relations, analyst relations, thought leadership, strategic counsel, etc.
