University of Akron, Ohio, Student Wins Contest for Summer Internship at Affect that attracted 110 entrants and nearly 16,000 votes

Katey initially became a semi-finalist by attracting 1,205 out of the 15,953 in total votes that were cast by the public and moved on to become one of two finalists after impressing the five judges in Skype interviews. Last week, Katey was flown to New York for a final in-person interview with the Affect team and sealed her fate as the winner of the New York Intern Project.“I am excited and honored to be chosen as the grand prize winner of The New York Intern Project,” said Kimpel. “I can’t wait to work and learn from the entire Affect team.”As the winner, Katey will receive a three-month internship at Affect that will prepare her to start her career in the industry. She will also receive $5,000 and a housing stipend of up to $2,500 to live in New York City for the summer.
