April Boykin-Huchko

Human Resources Director

April Boykin-Huchko is a great example of today’s New Yorker. Although she received her Master’s Degree in Corporate Communications here in New York, April hails all the way from Arizona, a place you’ll catch her every other summer. When she is not traveling the globe with her family, volunteering, vlogging, going to Rammstein concerts or browsing the latest gadgets at the Apple store, you’ll find her helping Affect creatively meet and exceed its talent goals, all while cultivating a workplace environment conducive to collective greatness as its HR Director.

As HR Director, April Boykin-Huchko is responsible for overseeing employee development, culture, benefits, operations and productivity. Included in her responsibilities are recruiting for the agency; creating and implementing policy; staff development and management; benefits, contract and operations management. Prior to joining Affect, April spent 9 years of her HR career managing talent acquisition, engagement and development within Havas Health, a global health and wellness advertising network. During her tenure, she partnered with executive leadership teams and launched: internal university development programs, social onboarding, and a host of recognition programs for employees that contributed to increased engagement and productivity. April is passionate about employee growth and giving back, making her a great fit for Affect. Together, they ensure employees are provided the necessary tools and connections needed to create, develop, and deliver their very best work!

In addition to her Masters of Arts degree in Corporate Communications from Baruch College, April also holds a certificate in Human Resources Management from Pace University. One hidden talent that you may not know about her is that she can sing while listing the 50 United States of America, in alphabetical order, and she also knows how to crochet a mean grandma scarf for the winter.
